Centre for Vector Borne Disease Control was started on April, 2005 . It is an umbrella programme for prevention and control of Vector borne Diseases viz., Malaria, Dengue, Lymphatic Filariasis, Japanese Encephalitis and Chikungunya.

Strategies :

  1. Early diagnosis, prompt and complete treatment
  2. Integrated Vector Management including promotion of personal protective measures and biological measures
  3. Supportive Interventions such as BCC, Intersectoral Convergence, Monitoring and Evaluation.

Objectives:

* Prevention of deaths due to Vector Borne Diseases.
* Prevention of Morbidity due to Vector Borne Diseases.
* To Eliminate Malaria Incidence by 2030.
